flashprog/v1.5

Not much has changed since v1.4. There was mostly some facelifting for the internal AMD and Intel drivers, a small amount of fixes and SFDP got support for flash chips bigger than 16MiB.

What's new?

AMD ROM Armor

Because AMD is restricting flash access on AM5 and similar new platforms with their ROM Armor tech, there is a new read-only driver now that should automatically step in as a last resort.

SFDP for 4BA Chips

Auto detection of flash features for chips with 4-byte addresses was missing for quite some time. We can now detect some of them which should provide a much nicer experience if a chip model is completely unknown to flashprog.

Other Changes

  • A use-after-free in the internal programmer on AMD platforms got fixed.
  • Support for Intel Arrow Lake H and Panther Lake was added.
  • Newer Dediprogs (protocol v2+) get their IO2 and IO4 pins set to the correct defaults now.
  • We run the result of the SFDP detection through our selftests.
  • The build system uses a version.h now, and there were some more minor tweaks.
